I use a person-centred approach, which means I’ll take your lead in shaping what therapy looks like for you. I also take an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and psychoeducation, among others. Most importantly, if one method doesn’t work for you, we’ll explore others, because therapy should fit your unique needs, not the other way around.
My approach to therapy is person-centred and collaborative. You are the expert on yourself and your experiences, and I’m here to support you in the areas where you feel you need help, guidance, or a different perspective. Whether you’re ready to dive in or prefer to take things slow, I’ll meet you where you are and work alongside you to make the journey a little easier.
Having personally experienced mental illness, I’ve developed a deep interest not only in how we treat mental health conditions but also in how we promote overall well-being. Through my work and volunteer experiences with individuals facing physical illnesses, I saw firsthand how often mental health struggles accompany physical ones. Being a supportive, compassionate listener during those times showed me the powerful impact of empathy, and it’s ultimately what inspired me to pursue a career in psychology.
