Assessments can offer valuable insights into you and your mental health experiences, helping you and others better understand your needs and strengths.

A Psychological Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by an assessment psychologist. It includes various tests and observations to gain a deeper understanding of areas like mental health, cognitive abilities, academic abilities, and behaviour, helping you and professionals better understand yourself.

Assessments can help identify emotional challenges, ADHD, or mood disorders like anxiety and depression.
Beginning and going through this process may seem overwhelming, so we put together information to help you along this journey:

Step 1. Assessment Screening

To begin, take 3 - 5 minutes to answer our questionnaire so we can determine which assessment
may be best for you. Then, our team will connect with you on a call (15 - 20 minutes) to confirm all the details, including a pricing estimate, and to make sure everything fits based on your needs. From there, they’ll walk you through everything you need to know before booking your clinical interview.

Throughout each step of the process, our team will communicate with you regularly via email and answer any questions you may have.

Step 2. Clinical Interview

The next step involves the clinical interview which will take 80 minutes. Here, you can expect to discuss consent, relevant
history, your presenting concerns, assessment questions and
goals, and the overall assessment process with the psychologist.

Step 3. Collecting Additional Insights (time varies)

With your consent, your psychologist may interview or send forms to
other people in your life, such as a health professional or family member, and conduct observation sessions to collect more insights (depending on the assessment). They may also review past assessments, records, or more. The psychologist will always let you know what information they wish to collect so you are both always on the same page!

Step 4. Testing Sessions (time varies depending on individual client)

The psychologist will schedule you to complete standardized tests. At DiveThru, we use standardized tests to offer a structured, measurable way to assess areas
like attention, mental health, and cognitive
skills. This helps us get a clear and
comprehensive understanding of your unique
strengths and challenges. The number and length of these sessions will vary depending on the type of assessment and
your needs.

Step 5. Feedback Session

Once the psychologist has gathered all the information they need, they will put together a thorough report with personalized recommendations, which may include a diagnosis. They will then schedule a 80-minute feedback session to walk you through their findings, talk about your next steps and answer any questions you may have. After this session, you'll receive the finalized report.

We recognize that assessments are a significant investment of time, energy and resources. Our process helps ensure you leave DiveThru feeling supported, with greater clarity and confidence in your next steps.
