That’s where we can help! DiveThru’s Giftedness Assessments provide a tailored understanding of how your child learns and processes information. These assessments can be instrumental in helping parents and educators understand a child’s unique cognitive strengths.

Recognizing giftedness early allows for tailored educational interventions that nurture these abilities, keeping your child engaged, challenged, and motivated in learning environments.

start your assessment process

Begin Questionnaire

Step 1. Assessment Screening

To begin, take 3 - 5 minutes to answer our questionnaire so we can determine which assessment
may be best for your child. Then, our team will connect with you on a call (15 - 20 minutes) to confirm all the details, including a pricing estimate, and to make sure everything fits based on your child’s needs. From there, they’ll walk you through everything you need to know before booking your child’s clinical interview.

Throughout each step of the process, our team will communicate with you regularly via email and answer any questions you may have.

Step 2. Consent and Detailed History Form

Before the clinical interview, the child’s legal guardian(s) will be emailed consent forms to complete. If parents are separated/divorced and have custody of the child, all parents will need to provide consent. The psychologist will also review consent in the clinical interview to ensure you understand the assessment process and can ask questions before proceeding.

Along with the consent form, one parent/guardian will also be sent a detailed history form to complete. This form outlines important background information about your child/youth that will help inform your psychologist’s interpretations and the assessment. Please submit these forms as early as possible before your clinical interview.

Step 3. Clinical Interview

The next step involves the clinical interview which will take 80 minutes. Here, at least one parent/guardian can attend and expect to discuss consent, relevant
history, your presenting concerns, assessment questions and
goals, and the overall assessment process with the psychologist.

Step 4. Collecting Additional Insights (time varies)

The psychologist may interview or send forms to
other people in your child’s life, such as a health professional or teacher, and conduct observation sessions to collect more insights (depending on the assessment). They may also review your child’s past assessments, records, or more. The psychologist will always let you know what information they wish to collect so you are all always on the same page!

Step 5. Testing Sessions (time varies depending on individual client)

The next section includes standardized tests! At DiveThru, we use a standardized cognitive (IQ) test, which your psychology will compare to developmental benchmarks. This helps us get a clear and
comprehensive understanding of your child’s unique
strengths and challenges. The number and length of these sessions will vary depending on the type of assessment and
your child's needs.

Step 6. Feedback Session

Once the psychologist has gathered all the information they need, they will put together a thorough report with personalized recommendations, which may include a diagnosis. They will then schedule a 80-minute feedback session to walk you (and your child, if appropriate) through their findings, talk about your next steps and answer any questions you may have. After this session, you'll receive the finalized report.

We recognize that assessments are a significant investment of time, energy and resources. Our process helps ensure you leave DiveThru feeling supported, with greater clarity and confidence in the next steps.
