Registered Provisional Psychologist

“Hi! I’m a Registered Provisional Psychologist and my goal is to work together and build a foundational understanding between us, providing a safe place to share what is going on in your life. I am committed to creating an environment that is non-judgemental, attentive, and empathetic. Humour and compassion are key in the therapeutic process, and I try to utilize both in equal measure.”

Philosophy

Life can pose many challenges and stresses in people’s lives, and every individual deals with it in their own way. Sometimes we can manage and cope very well. However, there are times when we can feel overwhelmed, and some challenges can be more difficult to manage and cope with on our own- that is why I am here to help! I view therapy as a way to provide the opportunity to explore and navigate one’s challenges and concerns, using a team effort, where you, as the client, and I work together to help address and overcome your obstacles. My goal is to work together and build a foundational understanding between us, providing a safe place to share what is going on in your life. I am committed to creating an environment that is non-judgemental, attentive, and empathetic. Humour and compassion are key in the therapeutic process, and I try to utilize both in equal measure.

My Approach

Therapy for me is fundamentally about addressing the issues in the relationships we have, that impact our beliefs, attitudes, and values. Whether those issues stem from relationships with family, romantic partners, friends, or ourselves. I will consult with you on those issues to help make the difficulties you face easier to overcome and assist you in your healing journey.

My approach foundationally is about our collaborative relationship, using a holistic and tailored approach towards your goals, utilizing your strengths, helping you increase your confidence and actualizing your potential. With that being said, I approach therapy primarily using theories of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Self-Compassion Mindfulness, Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and being Trauma Informed.

About Me

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists, and I have worked and volunteered in the mental health field for the past 8 years in the Edmonton and St. Albert area with individuals, couples, children, and teens. I have specialized training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Mindfulness-Self Compassion group work, and in Social Skills Coaching.

I have a passion for helping others on both a small and large scale, whether that’s as an individual, couple, family, or the community. I enjoy helping others explore what living a meaningful life looks like to them. While outside the office, you can find me getting creative in arts or curling up to a book with my cats, Sparta and Achilles. Let’s get to know each other!
