  • My Approach

My main goal in therapy is to learn about you as an individual and both empower and advocate for you to succeed and thrive in your daily life. I am greatly passionate about providing support with relationship issues, trauma and grief, communication and self-esteem problems, racial/religious identity crisis issues, immigration and integration, and self growth. My counselling and communication style is a combination of warm, caring, empathetic, supportive, direct and to the point, but also lighthearted and humorous. I strive to make sure our sessions are safe and comfortable, and as our therapeutic relationship deepens, we can Dive Thru any of the problems or struggles you are experiencing.

  • My Philosophy

If you are reading this, I applaud you for taking charge of your healing journey. You are worthy and capable of love, peace, and happiness, and together, we can explore and overcome the obstacles you are facing in a safe and non-judgmental space. My therapy philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach, merging the mind, body, spirit, our lived experiences, and many overlapping teachings. Life can be challenging, often filled with many unknowns, and we never know the curve ball that will come our way. It's hard to overcome adversity when we constantly feel stuck under a gloomy rain cloud. Deep down, we are all a little broken, but together with support, compassion, and the right strategies and tools that are personalized to your experiences, together we can heal your wounds for you to thrive. I believe human relationships and mentorship are the most important elements to our growth and wellbeing, and that seeking out support is a sign of strength, not weakness, as all of us need help at some point in our lives. The past may inform the present, but your experiences do not define you; they shape who you are! The therapy lens I work from includes a person-centered, intersectional, anti-oppressive, feminist, trauma-informed, strength and solution-focused approach.

  • My Why

My main inspiration for becoming a therapist stems from my passion and drive to help people from various walks of life overcome obstacles they may be facing, and support them in finding a greater sense of purpose and connection to themselves and their dreams, while also feeling happier, safer, and more content with their life. Much of this passion came from unpacking much of my own/family trauma and wanting to better support marginalized youth who struggled in the school system (I am a former teacher). I know that with the right mentorship specific to your needs with a person-centred approach, we do not have to live to survive…we can THRIVE.
