  • My Approach

Therapy can often feel overwhelming and scary, and I like to compare it to swimming. Just like in swimming, we don't plunge into the deep end immediately — we start by wading in gradually. Only when we're ready, having honed our skills and strengthened our foundation, do we venture into the deeper waters. I believe that this foundation begins from a relational approach, which is why my practice is grounded in collaboration. I focus sessions on creating a non-judgmental space for you to be unapologetically vulnerable. Using an adaptable approach, I will pull from many therapeutic modalities including dialectical behavioural therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural therapy. I believe that laughter is healing, and that humour in therapy should be welcomed to help lighten the heaviness that therapy often brings with it. Throughout our time together, we will progress at a pace that respects your readiness, ensuring a steady and empowering road toward greater understanding and healing.

  • My Philosophy

My philosophy is that therapy is a tool to help people get “unstuck.” Sometimes we feel stuck in a recurring distressing thought, overwhelming emotions, or something that we can’t quite put our finger on. This is where the therapist can come in to help you explore and navigate some of the challenges that you’ve experienced that have led to that feeling of “stuckness.” From a collaborative and trauma-informed lens, I approach each session with the philosophy that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you and help you build on the skills that you already hold. I am committed to creating a space where you feel safe to share your story and feel heard, supported, and validated. Using a humanistic and integrative approach to therapy, we will pull from many different therapeutic modalities to ensure that your individual needs are being met.

  • My Why

Having navigated my own challenges of accessing mental health services, I understand the significance of a compassionate ear and empathetic presence. This led me to authentically embrace the role of a therapist, as I deeply believe in offering others a safe and non-judgmental space to share their struggles and triumphs. My aim is to be a steadfast sounding board, fostering an environment where individuals can embark on their healing journeys with the assurance that they are not alone.
