Philosophy
My work as a therapist is sex-positive, trauma-informed and client-centered, drawing from the Feminist, Internal Family Systems, and Attachment models of therapy. When working with couples, relationships, and the infinite constellations of polyamory/consensual non-monogamy, I will often add Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Part of what drew me to the practice of therapy was how much I benefited from my own therapy. It was reaaallllyyy hard for me to find a therapist that I felt safe speaking to openly, especially about relationships and sexuality, so I decided to become that therapist!
Approach
I want my office to be a safe space for you, as you are. In a session with me, you can expect a lot of curiosity and humour. Therapy can often feel stiff and formal, so I welcome informal language (meaning: you can swear in session and talk about memes).
My approach is adaptable to what you need and what helps you, so I can be gentle or I can be challenging! Since I work with sexuality, I always respect that we are starting off as strangers and you may want to keep some things private. My job is to support you in your journey.
A Bit About me
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and a Bachelor in Psychology and Gender Studies. I live and work in Amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton on Treaty 6 land. While I am working towards becoming a fully registered psychologist, I am also working towards becoming an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. Outside of work, I am a Girl Guide Leader and have been camping literally since before I was born! I also collect a wide variety of hobbies and interests, like knitting, anime, tabletop games, and gardening.
