MSW, Registered Social Worker (Not Accepting New Clients)

I believe in therapy that comes from a place of humanity, in knowing we are all just walking each other home. I seek to be an empathetic companion along your journey as we create an atmosphere where you feel seen, heard, accepted, and believed, as I personally know the healing power of being accepted for your authentically flawed self.

Erin is here to help with your trauma, self-esteem, developmental issues, anxiety and depression.

  • My Approach

I focus on a holistic, somatic approach that supports your nervous system to slow down, explore a felt sense of safety and connection, and build trust in your innate capacity to heal. My counselling goal is to support more balance and wellbeing among your emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual components. I come into this relationship as my authentic goofy self and use a soft playful approach that encourages you to show up as your authentic self (including swearing, tears, snot, etc.). I can be more directive by inviting you to slow down and be curious about your body’s messages, stuck emotions, and survival patterns so you can find a new way of being in relationship to the world and yourself.

  • My Philosophy

I believe in a practice that leads from an ethics of love and the seven sacred teachings of humility, honesty, respect, courage, truth, wisdom, and love. I use a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, relational lens that sees you as the expert of your own life. Theories that speak to my philosophy include polyvagal, attachment, and systems theories. I am also trained in emotion focused therapy, parts work, EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic experiencing. I may invite these into our time together but will always respect your choice in what approaches work best for you.

  • My Why

Working in a Western bio-medical context over the past 12 years as a Dietitian, I saw the need to move away from a medical model that sees our bodies and minds as separate systems. With the help of my trusted counsellors, I began my own healing journey of slowing down, noticing my nervous system, and exploring a practice of embodied empathy. Walking beside these trusted counsellors that saw, heard, accepted, and believed me inspired me to change careers and become a therapist that seeks to walk alongside people as they find their way home.
