My theoretical framework is based on Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Culturally Adapted Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CaCBT), using strength-based, client-centred approaches. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach; it requires time, flexibility, and a deep understanding of each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. I believe in tailoring a therapeutic plan that aligns with your personal experiences, values, and goals, recognizing that healing and growth unfold at different paces for everyone. I aim to create a warm and friendly environment to ensure you have a safe space to explore challenges and experiences.
Therapy is a deeply transformative process, one that I believe is rooted in empathy, respect, and the recognition of each person’s inherent strength. I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, meaning I honour each individual’s unique life experiences, culture, and identity. My commitment to anti-oppressive practices informs how I work, ensuring that I create a space where all voices are heard, and clients are empowered to heal without judgment or discrimination. My personal connection to the field comes from my own journey of seeking understanding and healing, which has shaped my belief that growth often emerges from vulnerability and connection. I take a strength-based approach, believing that every individual has the capacity for change and resilience — sometimes, it’s about uncovering those strengths when life feels overwhelming.
Growing up as a person of colour, I struggled with finding the support and understanding I needed, especially within my own community where mental health is often stigmatized. I wanted to not only help others navigate their emotional challenges but also reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. I believe that by sharing my own story and providing culturally sensitive support, I can help others feel empowered to seek help, break through barriers, and prioritize their well-being. Ultimately, I want to be a part of creating a more open, supportive, and healing environment for everyone.
