Reduced Rate Program offers therapy with regulated mental health professionals for $100 per session, with services eligible for extended health benefits and appointments available within one week.
EDMONTON, AB — August 27th, 2026 — DiveThru, a Canadian mental health care company providing virtual and in-person therapy, has launched an expanded Reduced Rate Program designed to tackle three of the biggest barriers Canadians face when accessing mental health care: cost, coverage and wait times.
Through the program, Canadians can access virtual therapy for $100 per 50-minute session with Master’s-level, regulated mental health professionals. At approximately 57% less than the standard 50-minute session rate, the program is designed to make ongoing therapy more financially accessible. All services offered through the program can be submitted to extended health benefits, with direct billing available through many insurance providers.
DiveThru is also focused on maintaining enough capacity to ensure Reduced Rate clients can find an available appointment within one week.
“We don’t think people should have to choose between affordability, timely access and qualified care,” said Sophie Gray, Founder of DiveThru. “And while we recognize there is no single solution that will make therapy accessible to everyone, the Reduced Rate Program is our attempt to bring all three together and create another option for Canadians seeking care.”
Closing the Gap Between Affordable and Accessible Care
Canada has important no-cost mental health services available through the public system and non-profit organizations. However, high demand can mean lengthy wait times for care.
Lower-cost private therapy offers another important option, including services provided by intern therapists completing supervised clinical training. While these services play an important role in expanding access, sessions are often not eligible for reimbursement through a client’s extended health benefits.
DiveThru’s Reduced Rate Program was designed to help fill the gap between these existing options: affordable, timely care delivered by regulated professionals and eligible for insurance coverage.
“When someone decides they’re ready to talk to somebody, asking them to wait weeks or months can be a significant barrier in itself,” said Gray. “Our goal is for someone to come to DiveThru, find a therapist who fits what they’re looking for and have an affordable appointment available within days, not months.”
Reduced Rate Therapy Is Available Now
Virtual Reduced Rate therapy is available for $100 per 50-minute session. DiveThru also offers a limited number of $150 in-studio Reduced Rate appointments for clients who prefer or require in-person care. Both options are provided by qualified, regulated mental health professionals and can be submitted to extended health benefits.
Canadians can learn more about the program and apply for Reduced Rate therapy through DiveThru’s Reduced Rate Program.
