Registered Provisional Psychologist

“Hi there, I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist and work from a culturally sensitive and attachment-based perspective. Counselling can help navigate transitional periods in our lives and foster a greater understanding of ourselves and our relationships. I believe we all long for a safe space to explore life’s challenges. When we find someone who offers reassurance and validation, it can promote a sense of security, confidence, and resilience.”

Sabrina focuses on anxiety, trauma, sexuality, self-worth and relationship issues.

  • My Approach

I work collaboratively with my clients toward healing and enhanced self-worth by facilitating an affirming and supportive dialogue. My approach is sex-positive and inclusive of all marginalized groups and communities. I relate to individuals and couples through an attachment-based and trauma-informed lens, creating an avenue for connection and relational recovery. I use modalities such as cognitive behavioural, emotion-focused, the Gottman method, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches to identify the appropriate therapeutic milieu for my clients.

  • My Philosophy

Some of my values include compassion, authenticity, collaboration, safety, and kindness. I can appreciate how challenging it is to take the first step to ask for help. No matter your background or status, I feel it is essential to find a secure place to land and be heard. It is imperative for me to acknowledge my privilege and be sensitive to others’ cultures and norms. I would love to hear your story and why you have chosen to take this next step toward wellness and healing.

  • My Why

With an extensive background in human services, I have found my calling within counselling and psychotherapy. The past 12 years, I provided emergency medical care as an Advanced Care Paramedic within the Edmonton zone. These experiences motivated me to switch gears and acquire knowledge related to mental health and wellness. Prior to my work as a paramedic, I supported children and youth in group homes in addition to women in shelters around the city. I strive to support our most vulnerable and believe in equitable care and a feeling of community.
