  • My Approach

As a therapist, I tend to be gentle and friendly; however, I can also be direct when needed and incorporate humor. I practice from a collaborative and client-centered approach, meaning that I often encourage self-empowerment for my clients while also providing collaborative support aimed toward healing and personal growth. Additionally, I like to be flexible in my approach, and I encourage my clients to practice flexibility in their expectations and perception of therapy as well. I believe that therapy is going to look different for every individual, based on where they are in their personal mental health journey. And because of that, there is no script for how therapy should look for someone.

  • My Philosophy

My philosophy toward therapy is that healing and change take time, perseverance, and dedication. With that being said, my approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative in nature, meaning that as much as healing and change are personal journeys, a strong support network is especially valuable for promoting healing and encouraging change. I was originally drawn to this field after spending a significant amount of time and energy struggling with my own mental health, and although my personal mental health journey is ongoing, I am able to recognize and celebrate the progress I have made.

  • My Why

So many things have influenced my why for becoming a therapist, including my own personal experiences with mental health, my family, and a passion for wanting to help others heal and grow. My mental health journey started when I was very young, and I remember feeling scared and uneasy. I tried to hide my struggle and convinced myself I didn’t need help, which took an immense amount of energy. That personal understanding has deeply influenced my passion for helping others as they heal, progress, and grow. For me, the why for becoming a therapist comes from a genuine belief that even in the midst of struggle, we can always choose to heal and grow.
