Do you remember the first time you learned what a UTI is? Hopefully it was not the first time you had a UTI... or the first time a partner sprinted to the bathroom right after sex.
Christina talks about the importance of taking care of our bodies, because UTIs are awful… and there’s a huge stigma about them so nobody talks or knows anything about them!
She also tells the story of how a UTI caused her to pee her pants as a grown-ass adult… and explains why it’s actually romantic when your partner pees after sex.

About three years ago, Christina made the decision to stop drinking (alcohol, not water—have you drank enough water today???). She shares her history with alcohol — from innocently sneaking some fancy Italian amaretto with her friend in high school, how it eventually became a problem, and why she finally decided to try sobriety.
Christina was v brave and recorded this episode despite having a man cold, so please clap for her.

In this episode, Christina shares an update on her breakup… or a breakupdate if you will. She talks about how her friends, therapy, and umm getting in touch with herself have helped her feel better.
She also pitches a romantic comedy, in which her character meets a cute engagement ring engraver. If anyone from Hallmark is reading this, have your people call our people.
Speaking of rings, Christina bought a mood ring... but didn’t take the colour key so she doesn’t know how she’s feeling.

Diving Back Into the Dating Pool
Sobcast is a DiveThru original podcast.

The other day, Christina was feeling flirty and adventurous so she dialled up the internet and searched for something pretty scandalous: “how to date”
Whether it’s because you recently got out of a long-term relationship or the pandemic, getting back into dating can be scary as hell. Even after reading the Wiki-How, Christina has some questions: What does it mean to be “talking to” someone? Do people still make out in cars? Are you supposed to send a thank-you text afterwards?
Christina also talks about excessive sweating and sharing emotional trauma on the third date because that’s the sex date... 😰🙃😏

Christina has been reading up on the Salem Witch Trials lately, and had a revelation: if the town of Salem had mental healthcare, the whole thing might have been avoided. Or maybe just, y’know, cleaned their grain properly before eating it…
Also: why the Salem Witch Trials were basically the worst MLM scheme ever, daydreaming about being bedridden, and what the actual heck is a witch cake?!?!
Trigger warning: this episode discusses puritanism, mental health, and death.

In the soon-to-be-immortal words of Christina Wolfgram, “the internet can make you feel like poo-poo.”
As a fellow human being with internet access, Christina has seen some shit. And as someone who has been a ✨content creator✨ on the internet, Christina knows what it’s like to live and die by likes, views, and the comment section. In this episode, she shares some mental health-saving boundaries she’s found out about the hard way.
Christina also talks about meeting her AOL boyfriend IRL, her obsession with Bo Burnham: Inside, why she doesn’t have an OnlyFans page, and getting an inflated ego popped by a case of mistaken identity.

Are tarot cards a scary portal to a world of dark magic? Or are they a fun little card game that can mean whatever you want it to mean because rules don’t matter and you are in charge of your own destiny?
In this episode, Christina does a tarot reading for you — yes, you!
She also talks about her longtime interest in tarot, the ways it helps her mental health, and how she’s still terrible at shuffling cards.
As a bonus, Christina butchers a coffee commercial jingle and hits her head while shuffling cards (told you she’s terrible at it).

Recently, some of Christina’s friends have had major arguments over baby names… because someone’s secretly-chosen hypothetical baby name was “stolen” by their friend -- for their dog.
It’s not uncommon to plan weddings and pick baby names from a younger age, even if we’re not engaged or pregnant. But what does that say about the way we plan for the future?
In this episode (that probably should have been a therapy session tbh), Christina also shares how Sex and the City could be used to find the root causes of world issues, and complains about “kids these days” -- so she’s actually a senior citizen now ICYMI.

This episode of Sobcast the Podcast was recorded from Christina Wolfgram’s bed in Portland, Oregon, in front of a live studio audience of one cat and one dog!
Whether it was being out in public, feeling lonely after her breakup, or eating a lot of cheese, Christina was depressed as heck. In this episode, she works through the differences between depression and regular old sadness.
She also talks about getting annoyed at 1 a.m. by the TikTok person who tells you that you’ve been watching for a long time, worrying about waking up her neighbours with her tears, and offers makeup tips for living your best crying life.
OH and Christina smells one of her socks to judge whether or not she’s a real adult (yeah, it won’t make any more sense once you listen)...

Getting Paid to Cry (Ft. Stephanie Kent)
“I’m fine, it’s just allergies.”
If you’ve ever said that to a coworker to cover for the fact you were definitely just crying in the bathroom, this episode of Sobcast is for you!
This week, Christina is joined by her dearest friend, trusted confidant, and fellow work-crier Stephanie Kent. The two discuss crying at work hacks, like finding unused conference rooms, and why businesses should bring back cubicles.
Also in this episode: Christina invents the idiom “tip of the iceberg,” processing compliments from years ago, real life fanfics, unnecessary job interview questions, and why The Secret is actually about red lipstick.

Healing from Collective Trauma (Ft. Dr. Raghu Appasani)
Where were you on September 11, 2001? If you’re older than 25, odds are you know the answer. Twenty years from now, you might think back to March 2020 in a similar way.
In this episode of Sobcast, Christina is joined by an actual psychiatrist, Dr. Raghu Appasani, to discuss collective trauma. Whether it’s a terrorist attack or *gestures vaguely at the state of the world* - how do we move forward after a collectively traumatic event?

Single Showers
On this episode of Shark Tank--sorry, wait, no--this episode of Sobcast, Christina has an incredible business idea for your consideration: the Single Shower (patent pending).
No, it’s not a single-capacity shower (we know those already exist!). Instead, the Single Shower (again, patent pending) is a revolutionary idea that transforms the dated concept of bridal and baby showers into a card one can play at any time. Say, hypothetically, you’re a young woman who was broken up with unexpectedly and moved to a new city, you could play the Shower Card (trademark pending) to get your friends to help furnish your new apartment and pay your bills.
Sharks, Christina is asking for $100,000 for 1% of the Single Shower. Which is definitely not an idea she got from Sex and the City why would you even think that???

Home
After traveling for her brother’s wedding, Christina considers what makes a place feel like home. Spoiler alert: it has a lot to do with walking to get coffee.
Christina shares an entry from her journal, reads a poem, and brags about buying clothes at a flour mill. She also ponders if her grandmothers’ souls are trapped inside clocks and trying to get her attention.

S Is For Serotonin
In this episode of Sobcast the Podcast, Christina shares her journey of treating anxiety and depression, from lifting jars in the desert for a muscle test, to finding her perfect cocktail of antidepressants. She may not be sure what SSRI stands for (“I think one of those esses is for serotonin”), but she sure knows which ones she likes.
Christina also talks self-care, finding joy in the color of her pee, and the horrors of Web MD.

Why is Comfort Food So Comforting? With Marie Lodi of Bloodfeast
TW: food talk, death of a family member, weirdly vivid descriptions of eating a McDonald’s cheeseburger
In an effort to figure out why she loves Happy Meals and bean & cheese burritos so much, Christina does some research about why certain foods can be so dang comforting. It turns out, that warm fuzzy feeling stems from much more than just the ingredients: we can trace that comfort back to happy memories, connections with family, or the feeling of being cared for as a child. To investigate how we can find comfort in our own grown up kitchens, Christina talks to writer and fashion icon Marie Lodi, who creates recipes to soothe your soul and uterus on her blog, Bloodfeast. They discuss pink kitchen appliances, bread baking fails, and how to take care of your inner child.
